Be convenient by avoiding inconveniences. EFU’s Travel Inconvenience Insurance provides coverage in the event of delay of a scheduled flight, delay of baggage and loss and/or damage to the baggage checked in to the IATA member scheduled airline.
Benefits offered by EFU’s Travel inconvenience Insurance:
Delay of Baggage
In the event of delay of more than 4 hours in delivering the baggage checked in by an IATA Member Airline, EFU General will provide coverage for the purchase of primary necessity items like toiletries, clothes, sanitary items etc provided that the original copies of the invoices and payment receipts are furnished
Delay of flight
It provides coverage in case a flight gets delayed for at least 8 hours and compensates for additional expenses of travelling and hotel accommodation subject to furnishing of satisfactory proofs.
Loss of Baggage checked in
In the event the baggage checked in by the insured on an IATA member airline is lost and/ or damaged by the airline then EFU General will supplement the compensation for which the carrier is also liable. For the purpose of substantiating the claim the insured should furnish a list of the contents including the estimated price and date of purchase of each item, as well as the settlement of the compensation payment by the carrier. Compensation payment for loss will be calculated according to the procedures recommended by international carriage by air organizations. The minimum period of time that must lapse for the baggage to be considered to have been lost once and for all will be that stipulated by the carrier company i.e. a minimum of 21 days from the date of loss and the compensation paid by airline and EFU together will not exceed the total sum covered in the policy.
